Chicago-based Levy Caters to Big Game Appetites

Chicago-based Levy has evolved into a leading sports and entertainment hospitality company. With more than 300 venues in North America, Levy provides food and beverage services for 112 professional sports teams. Levy serves four major stadiums/arenas in the Chicago area, including Wrigley Field, United Center, Guaranteed Rate Field, and Now Arena. Levy also has premium catering and concession contracts at 25 professional sports facilities and racetracks, along with six for general concessions.

Levy has also been the food and beverage partner for the home of the Las Vegas Raiders, Allegiant Stadium, since 2020. With Allegiant hosting Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, Levy will once again be front and center as the in-stadium food and beverage provider for one of the biggest stages, if not the biggest stage, in professional sports. Levy last provided food and beverage services at the Super Bowl in 2019 in Atlanta.

The menu at the 2024 Super Bowl will include unique and mouth-watering options, including carved lobster tail, wagyu tenderloin, neon hot dogs, chicken and waffles served with maple syrup in a pipette, colossal double stuffed potato, and Vegas wedge salad, just to name some of the headliners.

Levy has partnered with a number of world-class events, including the Grammys, Kentucky Derby, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, Professional Tennis, and the PGA Tour. This will be Levy’s sixth Super Bowl.

Levy is credited with pioneering the concept of fine dining at sports facilities in the early 1980s when Larry Levy signed a deal to cater Chicago White Sox games. Competition in the food services market is fierce, with Levy bidding against companies such as Volume Services America, Sportservice Corp., Ovations, and industry leader Aramark.

The history of Levy dates back to 1978, when brothers Larry and Mark Levy invested in D.B. Kaplan’s Delicatessen in Chicago’s Water Tower Place. With some help from their mother, Eadie, and some authentic family recipes, Levy Restaurants was born. Who We Are – Levy (levyrestaurants.com) Levy now has a dozen restaurant locations around the country, including Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap and River Roast in Chicago.

Levy has continued to evolve its operations and grow into other industries over the years. In 2000, Levy partnered with Charlotte-based Compass Group North America, the leading food management company in the country. In 2014, Levy created its own consulting firm and charted a course to outperform its competitors using advanced analytics in decision-making processes. Levy launched a retail clothing line in 2017 called Rank + Rally, and growth continues there with partnerships with various professional sports teams.

Levy is now owned by British food service giant Compass Group, which acquired a 49 percent stake in 2000 and then bought the rest of the company in 2006.
