Meet the Newest House GOP Lawmakers


We are proud to introduce the newest House Republican members of the 102nd General Assembly. 

Rep. Chris Bos
, District 51 
Chris Bos has been dedicated to community service through a career with non-profits and volunteerism. He previously served as the children's and family pastor at Alpine Chapel in Lake Zurich and as an Ela Township Trustee. In addition to State Representative, he is the Director of Development for Reclaim13, a non-profit that works to free children from sexual exploitation by focusing on prevention programs for adolescents and adults, and healing programs for children and young adult victims of human trafficking. Rep. Amy Elik, District 111
A lifelong resident of Madison County, State Representative Amy Elik has spent the last twenty-five years working as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and auditor for area businesses and governmental bodies. She sees firsthand how policies coming out of Springfield can hinder economic growth by politicians disconnected from the struggles of Main Street Illinoisans. Learn more about Rep. Elik.

Rep. David Friess, District 116

After graduating high school, David Friess enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Subsequently he joined the Air Force Reserves as a Flight Engineer. Desert Storm began and he found himself on numerous support missions flying into the theater to support the war effort. After Desert Storm, Rep. Friess worked for a Delta Airlines in Atlanta before returning to school. He earned a degree in Criminal Justice and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate. Learn more about Rep. Friess.

Rep. Jackie Haas, District 79
For 30 years, Jackie has served her community as a social worker, focused on helping underserved populations, and advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. In 1994, Jackie joined the Helen Wheeler Center for Community Mental Health and became the organizations CEO in 2000, pushing to expand health care, economic opportunity, and early childhood development throughout her community. Jackie served on the Kankakee County Board from 2018 to 2020.  Learn more about Rep. Haas.

Rep. Paul Jacobs, District 115
Dr. Paul Jacobs has practiced optometry throughout Southern Illinois communities including Anna, Carbondale, Herrin, and Marion. Paul and Rhoda. He also built the highly successful and widely-known Von Jakob Winery in Alto Pass from the ground up 24 years ago. A veteran, he served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1971. Learn more about Rep. Jacobs.

Rep. Seth Lewis, District 45
As vice president of operations for a small manufacturing business, Seth Lewis watched the Illinois business environment deteriorate to a point where he felt the need to completely change his career path. He has now been an independent business owner and agent with State Farm Insurance for over a decade. This personal story provides the Representative with great motivation to push public policy that will improve Illinois’ business climate and allow job creators to thrive. Learn more about Rep. Lewis

Rep. Mark Luft, District 91
Mark Luft is an Army veteran who has dedicated his life to serving his community, state, and country. A lifelong resident of Pekin, Mark has worked throughout his career to improve the economic well-being of families and businesses in Illinois. From his years running the Pekin Youth League to his efforts on Pekin’s City Council to his tenure as Mayor, Mark has worked tirelessly to fight for a better future for his neighbors across his community. Martin McLaughlin is a small businessman and a financial expert specializing in pension management. As Village President of Barrington Hills since 2013, he has reduced the size of government in his local community and reformed out-of-control spending. He has lowered the village’s tax levy for seven out of his eight years in office, for a total reduction of 24%. Learn more about Rep. McLaughlin

Rep. Adam Niemerg, District 109
Adam Niemerg is a Teutopolis native and resides in rural Dieterich in Effingham County with his wife and two small children. Adam was a senior claims adjuster with 12 years of experience for Country Financial. The oldest of five children, Adam graduated from Teutopolis High School in 2002 and then received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. Rep. Tim Ozinga, District 37
Tim Ozinga is a co-owner and executive vice president of Mokena-based Ozinga Bros. Inc., a fourth-generation family-owned American company specializing in ready-mix, energy, logistics, and construction materials with operations in five states. An active member of his community, Tim has served on the Village of Mokena’s Economic Development Commission and its Technology Committee. In 2019, he was elected to the Mokena Community Park District Board of Commissioners. Learn more about Rep. Ozinga.
