Members of the 99th Illinois General Assembly take office

Today 47 House Republicans join the ranks of the 99th Illinois General Assembly.  Twelve of those members were recently elected for the first time in November of 2014.

In the coming days we will introduce you to our new members in detail, until then, here is brief overview of each of them.

Steve Andersson, 65th District
Rep. Andersson lives in Geneva. His background is as a small business owner and partner in a law firm. His civic involvement includes serving as trustee and treasurer of the Geneva Library District Board. 

Mark Batinick, 97th District 
Rep. Batinick lives in Plainfield. He is an experienced business owner and commercial real estate broker. His community involvement includes more than 20 years of coaching basketball and soccer, and founder of the Will County Liberty Club.

Thomas Bennett, 106th District 
Rep. Bennett lives in Gibson City.  He has an IT background and is a former science and math teacher. He is a long-time member of the Parkland College Board.

Peter Breen, 48th District 
Rep. Breen lives in Lombard. He is an attorney for a not-for-profit, and former Lombard Village President and Trustee who chaired both the Finance Committee and the Economic & Community Development Committee.

Terri Bryant, 115th District
Rep. Bryant lives in Murphysboro. She worked for the Illinois Dept. of Corrections and is a former small business owner. Her community service includes volunteer work with women and children who are survivors of domestic violence.

Randy Frese, 94th District
Rep. Frese lives in Paloma. He is a small business owner and former Adams County Circuit Clerk. His civic involvement includes work with the Farm Bureau, Adams County Fair Board, and St. Thomas Catholic Church’s Camp Point.

Sheri Jesiel, 61st District
Rep. Jesiel lives in Winthrop Harbor. She is a CPA and experienced business manager/accountant. She feels her experience as a retirement plan administrator will be key to solving the state’s current pensions and state financial challenges.

Margo McDermed, 37th District
Rep. McDermed lives in Mokena. She is a lawyer, former Frankfort Township Trustee and Township Clerk. Her civic involvement has included the Boy Scouts, and the founding of Mokena Educational Foundation along with other concerned parents.

Reggie Phillips, 110th District
Rep. Phillips lives in Charleston. He owns businesses that employ 400 people. He's been a builder, a landlord of student community housing and is now reaching out to senior citizens' housing needs.

Grant Wehrli, 41st District
Rep. Wehrli lives in Naperville. He is a former corporate pilot and Naperville City Councilmember.  His civic involvement includes work with the Community Concert Center Board and the Historic Sites Commission.

Keith Wheeler, 50th District
Rep. Wheeler lives in Oswego. He is a small business owner and has been active in business organizations. He has served his communities by volunteering with groups such as the Fox Valley Area Action Council and the Kendall County Food Pantry.

Christine Winger, 45th District 
Rep. Winger lives in Wood Dale. She is financial advisor and former Wood Dale alderman and Mayor Pro Tempore. Her civic involvement includes serving as chairman of Clean Air Counts.
