Freshman legislators sworn into the 101st General Assembly

Today 13 Republican lawmakers took the oath of office and joined the ranks of the Freshman class of the 101st General Assembly.

We are proud to introduce the new members of the House Republican Caucus:


State Representative 109th District
Darren Bailey was born and raised in Louisville, Illinois. He attended North Clay Unit #25 schools and earned a A.A.S. in Agricultural Production from Lake Land College in Mattoon. Darren has spent his entire life farming in Clay and surrounding counties growing corn, soybeans, and wheat. Read more.



State Representative 101st District
Dan Caulkins has more than two decades of military experience, retiring as a US Army Major. Caulkins worked for Decatur manufacturing giant ADM and several local companies, as well as running his own businesses focused on providing long-term care and assisted living for disabled adults. State Representative 89th District
Rep. Andrew Chesney was first sworn into office in December, 2018, following his election as State Representative of the 89th District in November 2018. Prior to his service in the Illinois House, Chesney was an elected member of the Freeport City Council, where he built a reputation as a strong advocate for more funding for public infrastructure, blight reduction, and law enforcement. State Representative 42nd District
Amy Grant has been a resident of Illinois for most of her adult life. She and her husband Jim have lived in Wheaton for more than 20 years. Her professional experience includes teaching in both parochial and public schools, and management and sales in the private sector. Prior to her election to the House of Representatives, Amy served on the DuPage County Board from 2012-2018. Read more.


State Representative 70th District
Jeff Keicher was sworn in as State Representative for Illinois’ 70th District on July 17, 2018, to complete the unexpired term of former Representative Bob Pritchard. Representative Keicher is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with over 20 years of professional experience in the insurance industry. Read more.

State Representative 104th District
Mike Marron was sworn-in to serve as the new 104th District in September, 2018. He is a small business owner and operates a family farm with his father in rural Vermilion County. Prior to the General Assembly, Mike served as the Chairman of the Vermilion County Board. Read more.



Deanne Mazzochi
State Representative 47th District
Deanne Mazzochi was first sworn in as State Representative in July, 2018. Born and raised in Villa Park she currently resides in Elmhurst. Deanne is a founding partner of Rakoczy Molino Mazzochi Siwik LLP, and represents clients from around the world. The firm specializes in life sciences law, particularly patent litigation in the medical/pharmaceutical arena. Read more.


State Representative 110th District
Chris Miller lives in Oakland, Illinois, where he was born and raised. After graduating from Oakland High School, Chris attended Eureka College and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in education. Later, Chris attended Lake Land College and received an Associate’s Degree in agriculture. He is a third generation farmer and raises Angus cattle. Read more.


State Representative 99th District
Mike Murphy was born in Springfield and raised in Divernon, Illinois where he attended Divernon High School. He served three years in the United States Army as an Air Traffic Controller with his last year of active duty served in the Republic of South Korea. He served one year in the Illinois National Guard while attending Eastern Illinois University. Read more.


State Representative 65th District
Dan Ugaste was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs and is a lifelong resident of Illinois. As the first person in his family to complete college, he graduated from Lake Forest College in 1985, and earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University in 1988. He is a 20-year employee and a shareholder in the Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie and Lowry Law Firm in Chicago, where he specializes in workers compensation defense. Read more.

State Representative 64th District
Tom Weber has spent most of his life working on his family farm and as a carpenter. Tom graduated from St. John’s Military Academy where he achieved the highest rank of Company Commander, was elected class president and received many awards including Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Before joining the Illinois General Assembly, Tom served on the Lake County Board and Forest Preserve Board since 2012. Read more.

State Representative 107th District
Blaine Wilhour was born and raised in rural Altamont, Illinois, on the family farm where they raised hogs. Today they are corn and soybean farmers in Fayette, Effingham and Shelby Counties. Blaine is a graduate of St. Elmo High School. He served in the Illinois Guard from 1999-2005 as an Intelligence Analyst. In 2002, he deployed to Europe in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. State Representative 118th District
Patrick Windhorst, a native of southern Illinois, lives in Metropolis. He graduated from Shawnee Community College in 1995, then earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in 1997, before going on to graduate from law school at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2000. In 2004, Patrick was elected as State’s Attorney for Massac County where he served until being elected State Representative in November 2018. Read more.
